The supermarket chain ASDA, are due to open a new 2000 sqm supermarket at Hereford, and working in conjunction with HBG, one of the UK’s leading construction services organisations, Peter Evans Flooring installed a comprehensive flooring solution for a variety of areas within the new store, including health areas, community centre, staff restaurant, offices, WC and shower room facilities.
In order to ensure the early receipt of floorcoverings, Peter Evans Flooring prepared the sub-floors by installing a latex levelling/Damp Proof Membrane system which would result in a smooth and level sub-floor, capable of withstanding heavy foot traffic and large merchandise display systems such as fridges, freezers and racking systems.
A variety of suitable floorcoverings were installed for the different areas including ASDA’s corporate KCC wood plank vinyl. As with all of ASDA’s stores, special KCC wood plank vinyl was fitted throughout the staff areas and restaurant, and its benefits include ease of cleaning and high durability.
Armstrong Vinyl Sheet flooring was specified for use throughout the WC’s and shower room facilities as it is a very versatile product that provides high performance and ease of maintenance and installation. Resistant to stains, scratches, moisture and fading and, in addition, Armstrong Vinyl Sheet offers premium levels of hygiene as the 2.0m width allows for fewer or even no seams, thereby dramatically reducing, or eliminating places where dirt or moisture can accumulate.
To complete the project, the floor areas within the community centre, offices and health centre were fitted with Bonar Flotex Carpet. Developed to ensure an attractive, hardwearing and hygienic floor, Flotex offers superb durability, low maintenance, and appearance retention in high foot traffic areas.
